Post Bellum is a non-governmental non-profit organization whose main focus is the documentation of the memories of witnesses of the important historical phenomena of the 20th century. Post Bellum’s core project is the Memory of Nations archive, the largest publicly accessible database of witness stories in Europe, containing more than 8.000 testimonies of war veterans, holocaust survivors, ethnic minorities, resistance fighters, political dissidents and also of those who were on the repressive side of the totalitarian regimes from the Czech Republic and other 20+ countries. Our main goal is to avoid forgetting the recent past of our nations. We organize cultural events, publish books, prepare exhibitions and we have a series of witnesses’ stories in Czech Radio and Czech Television. Since 2012 we focus on educational projects, bringing our methods and collected witnesses’ stories to schools.
