For the Living and the Dead. Traces of the Holocaust – An EHRI Podcast

European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI)

Content/Topic:

The podcast highlights personal stories from the Holocaust through objects that are now located in museums or (personal and private) archives, presented by researchers or archivists from across the EHRI network and beyond. Where possible, it draws on testimonies from Holocaust survivors. The concept meets three goals: it provides an audio resource that presents aspects of the Holocaust in an easily accessible way, thereby helping to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive; it gives voice to different national and disciplinary perspectives; and it highlights the importance of documenting and researching the Holocaust through objects, and thus the need to protect and look after these objects. Last but not least, it aims to present lesser known aspects of the Holocaust across Europe and to provide a forum for younger researchers and archivists to present their work to a wider audience.

Target group: Educators, historians, researchers, EHRI partners, research institutes, and policy makers.

Method/Format: Podcast

Language(s): English
