The Project is comprised in three parts: mapping of the Holocaust remembrance sights; the exhibition; the publication.

Holocaust Mapping – Preservation of the Toposve Šupe Camp is a scientific research project of the Centre for Public History, which aims at presenting to the public the history of the Topovske Šupe (Cannon Sheeds) camp.

In this project, the question “Wer ist Walter?” is symbolic of the observation that we in Europe often know little to nothing about the history(s) of resistance to Nazism and Nazi occupation during World War Two in other European countries.

Every year, pupils and students – according to their age and emotional development – are invited to, study, research, deepen and reflects on different historical, social and human issues and aspects of the Holocaust and the discrimination of the Jewish citizens, based on the year topic chosen by a committee of historians, educator and experts.

Scuola e Memoria is a website born with multiple goals: to promote the knowledge about the Racial Laws and the Shoah offering historical articles, personal stories, didactic videos, book reviews and other materials about different aspects of the Holocaust

Run for Mem is a sports race promoted by the Union of Italian Jewish Communities that provides the opportunity for a joint commemoration of the memory of the victims of the Shoah  with the intention to reaffirm the value of life as stronger than all the attempts of extinguish it, every year in a different city.

IWitness is the digital educational platform of the USC Shoah Foundation, that hosts over 4000 full length testimonies with survivors and witnesses of the Holocaust and other genocides.

Our project proposes a local perspective materialized in two objectives:

1. To frame Holocaust memory by emphasizing local specificities and boost local awareness.

2. To construct tools that will make visible the diversity of Holocaust victims.

Sound in the Silence is an interdisciplinary remembrance project aimed at encouraging secondary school students from around Europe to actively reflect on difficult aspects of 20th-century history using artistic means.

“Fleeing the Holocaust. My encounter with refugees” – is an interactive app for teenagers (students). The app gives young people access to these historical experiences through the medium of film.

ERINNERN:AT maintains the learning website romasintigenocide.eu in cooperation with European partner institutions and the IHRA. This website offers basic information on the genocide of the European Roma and Sinti for teachers and pupils and provides over 70 worksheets with different thematic focuses.

The podcast highlights personal stories from the Holocaust through objects that are now located in museums or (personal and private) archives, presented by researchers or archivists from across the EHRI network and beyond.

​Educational method for students from the 8th grade, based on biographical cards, which stimulate the discussion of questions of (co-)perpetration. The central goal is to understand mass murder as a social act in which responsibility cannot be reduced to a few direct murderers.

A learning material (educational method) by ERINNERN:AT “Points of escape. Moving life stories between Europe and the Middle East” about the intertwining of Europe’s history with that of the Middle East. Based on seven life stories, the topics of antisemitism, racism, flight and migration, the Holocaust and the Middle East conflict are dealt with.

​The multilingual, interactive, free online toolbox offers five learning modules that students can use to learn about the effects of Antisemitism, racism and other forms of discrimination. The learning materials are based on short videos in which young people talk about their experiences of exclusion and discrimination, including video interviews with young people from Austria and all countries participating in the project.

This project was born from the collection of voices, images and testimonies of German soldiers in Italy and in particular of the Täter [perpetrators, authors] of those massacres. It aims to contribute to the development of a new culture of remembrance between Italy and Germany and broaden educational and scientific perspectives, using a website, seminars, workshop and art with different target groups.

“Ester” – an educational material and pedagogical methodology to teach about the Holocaust using the graphic novel language, microhistories and archival records

The Kompetenznetzwerk Antisemitismus (Competence Network on Anti-Semitism; KOMPAS for short) is made up of five nationwide organizations with the aim to bundle and further develop services in the areas of anti-Semitism prevention, anti-Semitism-critical educational work, advice and the documentation and analysis of anti-Semitic incidents through cooperation and knowledge transfer.

The web video project “angekommen” (arrived) is about personal stories, but also about showing refugees as people with rights and legitimate needs and putting the issue into perspective.

The “Faces of Power” exhibition and educational program profoundly influences students’ development of historical awareness by exploring, analyzing, and discussing the actions of Second World War perpetrators.

Through theatre performances at sites connected to World War II or places thematically corresponding to the performances, this project creates a shared space for generations to meet and brings forgotten stories to life. It helps build the relationship between individual and collective memory. The project is aimed at young people who meet WW2 eyewitnesses and are inspired by their stories.

This workshop is inspired by the exhibition of the CDEC Foundation “1938-1945. The persecution of Jews in Italy”. It is designed to build up an extensive reflection through the examination of historical sources, and based on that, to lead teachers and students to discuss about aspects of present events, mainly concerning the topics of anti-Semitism, racism, intolerance, xenophobia.
